Best Practices
Before we get started, let’s talk about a few best practices:
- Send email from a person, not a company. Prospective customers are much more likely to open a message from a person than a general company account.
- Thought-provoking subject lines are the key to increasing open rates. Use verbs, ask questions and mention recipients by name to catch their eyes as they scan the inbox.
- Get Personal. Don’t send a generic letter. Tailor the message to your audience and what’s important to them.
- Create a clear call to action. Always make it easy for prospects to take action after they’ve read your message. Big, colorful buttons and large formatted phone numbers are great ways to focus attention on the next step.
- Be concise and format for easy reading. People don’t ready lengthy messages. Be brief. If you want to communicate a significant amount of information, use bullets to organize content.
